It's no secret that more and more people are overweight. But when we decide that we really have to loose some weight, we have no idea where to start. There have never been so many diets, weight loss plans, and exercise equipments available as today and most of them are promising you incredibly fast results with minimal effort& but strangely the number of overweight people is constantly rising.

The truth is that loosing weigh really is very easy. You already know how to do it and the two step formula hasn't changed at all - it's still as easy as eat less and exercise more. That's it. That's all the magic that you need. For generations people were losing weigh in this way and it is the only way that has really prove effective overtime. So why don't we stop searching for a new magical cure for obesity and just focus on what works? Have we all suddenly forgotten that less calories equals lesser weight?

Now let's take a step back into the 'dark ages' of dieting. Let's talk about counting calories. It's what our parents and grandparents used when they wanted to loose weight and it is still as effective as it ever was. If you do nothing else, but reduce the size of your meals, you will lose weight. If you do nothing else, but replace high calorie foods with low calorie ones, you will lose weight. We all know that, don't we? So let's take a look at what's the best way to do it.

The answer is meal planning. You should carefully plan all your meals in advance, so you know exactly what you should eat and in what amount. If you decide to go ahead and try to loose weight the old fashion way, with calorie counting, you don't really have to give up eating any type of food. You just have to know how many calories it has. If you decide to have a burger for lunch, you can. But because a burger has more calories than a salad, you will only be allowed to eat a relatively small portion. Or you can go the other way. Having a salad for lunch may not be as fulfilling to your taste buds, but it will surely fill your stomach.

When you're planning your meals, make sure you include both the foods that you crave and the ones that are low in calories. This way you won't break your diet because you miss your favorite food too much and you won't break it because you're too hungry. And that's really the most important thing - staying on your diet. If you do that, you will loose weight. I guarantee it.
